Self-portrait

Posted by Jeremie (Brooklyn, New York, United States) on 24 June 2009 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

A self-portrait taken on Saturday night with the help of my buddy Ludo who showed me the tip and "painted" the pattern and signature behind me. The recipe ? Well, 30 s shutter speed, 100 or 200 ISO and an aperture that you have to adjust to the scene... Choose one of your friends with good drawing skills and ask him to sketch the pattern you wish around you with a torch lamp, all lights switched off. Make sure that out of the 30 seconds, 10 seconds at least are dedicated to lightening the main subject, you, using the same torch lamp. You will probably need several tries to reach a satisfactory result... Good luck and keep me posted if you achieve something good using this technic. Cheers.
